The Ministry of Science and Technology Supports Economic Zone Construction on the West Coast of Taiwan Straits and Authorizes Fujian Province to Establish National Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Science and Technology Industrialization Base
In order to further carried out the Province-Ministry Conference and Consultation System signed by Fujian Provincial People¡¯s Government and Ministry of Science and Technology last October, and supports the Economic Zone Construction on the West Coast of Taiwan Straits, recently, Ministry of Science and Technology has formally authorized to establish National Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Science and Technology Industrialization Base (Fujian) according to Guokehanshezi [2007] No.102 official document. It pointed out Fujian should give full play to the geographical superiority of Economic Zone Construction on the West Coast of Taiwan Straits, emphasize resources characteristic of West Coast of Taiwan Straits, accelerate resources integration and improve industrialization system construction of traditional Chinese medicine R&D, planting and marketing. Ministry of Science and Technology not merely strengthens the instruction in the base construction process, but also gives prior support in such aspects as funds, talents and policy. This is the concrete measures taken by Ministry of Science and Technology to support Economic Zone Construction on the West Coast of Taiwan Straits, and also symbolizes traditional Chinese medicine modernization construction in Fujian has entered into a new development stage, which will greatly promote the Chinese traditional medicine industrialization in Fujian.
Since the 10th Five-Year-Plan, Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology has positively promoted the traditional Chinese medicine modernization science and technology industrialization construction in Fujian, by taking the traditional Chinese medicine modernization essential technology research and standardized planting base construction as the breakthrough point, it has established the traditional Chinese medicine modernization industry base with local characteristics in Fujian, and greatly promoted the development of Fujian traditional Chinese medicine industry. This April, such experts as Yu Dequan academician and so on organized by Ministry of Science and Technology carried out feasibility demonstration of traditional Chinese medicine modernization science and technology industrialization (Fujian) base construction and its implementation plan. The experts spoke highly of such work as the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government paying close attention to the traditional Chinese native medicine modernization work, strengthening the planning and multi-departments cooperation and developing traditional Chinese medicine modernization through science and technology, and they fully confirmed the diligence and achievements made by Fujian in earlier period of declaration for national base, and thought that it had full feasibility for Fujian to center on traditional Chinese medicine characteristic resources on the West Coast of Taiwan Straits, taking the government as the guidance, the market as the orientation, the enterprise as the main body, the technological innovation as support, and sticking to the integration of production, studying and research. |
