WangQinmin

He was elected as the International Academy of Sciences for Europe and Asia
(IASEA) in 1999. Dr. Wang Qinmin was born in December 1948, in November 1999
he acted as assistant to the president of Fuzhou University and the Division
Chief of Scientific Research Division, in October 2000 as vice president of
Fuzhou University, the Institute of Geo-Information Science and Technology,
member of expert committees of National Remote Sensing Center, guest researcher
at Institute of Geography of the CAS, Fujian, PhD supervisor, vice chairman of
the Fujian Institute of Remote Sensing. In 2001, he served as president of
College of Information Science and Technology of Fuzhou University and director
of Fujian Research Center for Spatial Information Engineering. Dr. Wang
Qinmin has studied and worked in the United Kingdom and Japan for 15 years, and
has long been engaged in the study of remote sensing and new global structure,
and made an important contribution to the development of oil and gas fields in
Northwest China. From November 1993 to January 1999 he was employed in Japanese
Satellite Image and Mapping Company, specializing in data processing system,
ground-based system design and evaluation of earth environmental observation
satellite. He also participated in the Sino-Japanese friendly cooperation,
carrying out resources and environment research project contact and negotiation
and has made a lot of contributions to promote Sino-Japanese friendly
cooperation. From April 1996 to returning to China, he was the leading
researcher and scientific consultant of Japanese Earth Science and Technology
Promotion Organization (Think Tank of Japan Science and Technology Department in
Earth Sciences), with a total research fund of 11 million U.S. dollars. He
published and written nearly 40 research papers and technical reports. From
2000, he has been presided over chairing the key construction projects of Fujian
Spatial Information Research Center-¨Cthe key personnel training and information
technology base for "Digital Fujian". In 1999, after the strict selection by
Central Publicity Department, Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Science and
Technology, he was awarded the medal of "Outstanding Professional and Technical
Personnel".
